Eating my words re TikTok and 1st KMD show in 5 years is booked

Words are delicious. That’s what I’m telling myself as I smother them with catsup and gulp them down while dusting off the ol’ ring light. The one I NEVER USED. The one I bought with plans of strumming tunes against the Commander Blue walls of my studio in February 2020; preparing to forge ahead with a new album. Spirits were high and the Pandemic came down like a soaked weighted blanket.

No Way Never Not Gonna Happen are a bit chewy as I plot an acoustic song to croon. Maybe with a drum loop. Maybe play around with vocal effects. Just have fun with it I tell myself while masticating and visualizing. I’ve entered TikTok. And it’s hard to swallow. Maybe as an inside joke- I should chew gum in all my TikTok videos. It’s like chewing on tough calamari or rubber bands or, did you ever snap into a SlimJim? One bite will last a while until you finally swallow what feels like a wad of meat flavored gum. (Though it’s been decades, I remember thinking- is there paper in this?)

I followed someone’s advice and claimed kmdmusic8 on as many social platforms as I can stand. Youtube Bluesky and even Snapchat! (not linking that one,Blargh! That’s for the nephews and I find it such a challenge not to use emojis in these newsletters- if you’re someone I text with you know I use them ALOT!) TikTok was the only place it was unavailable so there I’m kmdmusicinfinity.

I’m surprised that I’m actually enjoying TikTok- though I don’t understand why it’s back and I’ve seen several posts saying Meta is now involved with TikTok and I’m like Holy Moses is this true? Can we not have anything not tied to Zkrbrg? #facepalm

First KMD show in 5 years is booked. Saturday July 12, 2025 at the E.A.R.L.. Tix not available yet as I’m getting the opener lined up. SAVE THE DATE. I’m thrilled to have heavy rockers Dropsonic as my backing band plus husband Jim Prible on additional guitar and my dear Mary O Harrison on keys and backing vox. Will be a 2 band night as our set is kinda long. 15 tunes. Do we go through the motions of leaving the stage after 13 and let our pals stomp and holler for the final 2? Or do we just plow straight through… Gonna feel it out. Either way it was tough whittling down to 15. A good problem to have! And another reason I’ve pulled out this ring light. We’ll see if I actually follow through…

Hives update (see last post)…they are better. I’ve read that hormones can play a part in rare cases. Since I’m on a rollercoaster in that respect- this makes sense. Also I’m the Queen of outlier symptoms. But I love my body. Always remember to thank your body- your cells are your most important squad. Every night I tell my squad I love you I trust you I’m thankful for you. And this is one reason I’ve (mostly) stopped drinking. I had a beautiful glass of Sancerre with our Valentine dinner at Houston’s. But I’ve gotten more and more clear on how taxing alcohol is on the team (cells)! Sugar too but I still have a little sugar every day.
